A cable message


A cable message from Tientsin, North China, has been received by Mr and Mrs . Ada, of Sydney, announcing the death of Mr. Alfred James Merrington, their eldest son. Mr. Merrington had been labouring in Pa-Kou district, North China as a missionary for the past four years. He was born in Sydney in 1874, was educated at the Sydney High School. After some years of business life as a chemist, he underwent a course of study, including some medical training, with a view to the foreign mission field. He was married last year to Miss Florence Salkeld, of Sydney, who had also taken up mission work in China.
