Edwin King was, like his wife's younger sister Martha's husband William Richardson, a Maidenhead greengrocer.
They married in Maidenhead on 14/1/1873 and emigrated to Australia in 1884.
Edwin set up a grocery business in the same year with his partner George Lawrence Godfree in Carlton, Melbourne, called King & Godfree. It is still in business today.
